Dates and locations
The VI World Nomad Games will take place in Kyrgyzstan from 31 August to 6 September 2026. The opening is planned for Bishkek; the main competitions will be held in the Issyk-Kul region, including Cholpon-Ata and the Kyrchyn gorge.
For Karakol visitors, this is a reason to plan the route early: allow time for travel, choose accommodation and confirm transfers to event venues.
What is planned
The official programme includes ethnic sports, horse games, national wrestling, intellectual competitions and traditional hunting. Timetables, tickets, venue-by-venue schedules and transport restrictions may change, so this guide will be updated only from official announcements.
Plan without rushing
- Choose accommodation with clear cancellation terms and a direct host contact.
- Leave extra time between Karakol, Cholpon-Ata and Kyrchyn.
- Before departure, confirm the event time, entry point and return transport.
- Save your driver or accommodation contact offline: mountain signal can be unreliable.
