What is confirmed
Kyrgyzstan’s Ministry of Transport has reported ongoing works on the Balykchy–Bokonbaevo–Karakol, Karakol–Enilchek, Ak-Bulun–Toktogul and Jyrgalan routes. A separate reconstruction project covers 75.2 km between Barskoon and Karakol. Different sections are at different stages.
What travellers should expect
An open road can still have machinery, temporary traffic management and weather delays. Keep a buffer before a flight, tour or fixed check-in.

- follow Transport Ministry and emergency notices;
- do not treat an old closure notice as proof of current conditions;
- check mountain roads separately.
